Order Management |
An offer letter to a prospective buyer from a seller is termed as a proposal | A document issued by the seller that assures sale of a product in the inventory on receipt of a buyer’s purchase order is termed as a sales order. |
The proposal management tab enables lead owners to (1) create and save new proposals, (2) create and modify proposals from existing proposals, (3) send proposals as email with attachments, and (4) preview proposals. | The order management tab enables lead owners to (1) create and save new sales order, (2) create and modify sales orders from existing proposals and orders, (3) send sales orders as email with attachments, and (4) preview sales orders. |
The Expected Closing Date in each proposal forms the basis to calculate and generate the sales forecast reports. For instance, if the lead owner enters Expected closing date as April 30, 2009, the Sales Forecast Repot would consider the proposal amount as revenue to be generated till the specified date. | Sales orders form the basis to calculate and generate items sold report. |
Proposals can be created and saved for a specific lead. | Orders can be created and saved for a specific lead. |
Proposals enable the users to add payment term or specify terms and conditions for the deal. | Orders enable users to add payment term, which is the breakdown of amount to be paid in a specific term. |

Proposal Management:
1. Click on the Proposal Management tab.
2. Select ‘Create a New Proposal’.
3. Enter Proposal Title.
4. Enter Proposal Version.
Alternatively,
4. You can select ‘Copy from an Existing Proposal’ or ‘Edit an Existing Proposal’ option if you want.
5. Click on Next Step button.
6. In Proposal Attachments section, Choose attachment(s) for your Proposal and click on upload file button. You can also add desired Note in Notes section.
7. In Proposal Product Details section, select a product, enter No. of Unit(s), Unit of Measure, Show Price, Price, Proposal Notes for Internal Reference, Probability, Expected Closing Date, Discount in % and Amount. To add another product click on ‘Add Proposal Line’ Button.
8. In Proposal Terms section, enter Term description. To add another term description click on ‘Addition Terms’.
9. Click on Next Step button.
10. Enter/select email addresses and click on ‘Send Proposal’ button to send the proposal.
11. If you wish to save the proposal, click on ‘Save Proposal’.

If you wish to preview or print your Proposal, clicking on ‘Preview/Print
Proposal’.
Order Management:
1. Click on the Order Management tab.
2. Select ‘Create a New Sales Order’.
3. Enter Sales Order Number.
4. Enter Sales Order Version.
Alternatively,
4. You can select ‘Create a Sales Order from an Existing Proposal’ or ‘Edit an Existing Sales Order’ option if you want.
5. Click on Continue Button.
6. In Sales Order Attachments section, Choose attachment(s) for your Sales Order and click on upload file button. You can also add desired Note in Notes section.
7. In Sales Order Product Details section, select a product, enter No. of Unit(s), Unit of Measure, Price, Sale’s Order Notes for Internal Reference, Discount in % and Amount. To add another product click on ‘Add Sales Order Line’ Button.
8. In Sales Order Payment Terms section, enter Payment Amount and Number of Days. To add another payment term click on ‘Add Payment Term’ Button.
9. In Sales Order Terms section, enter Term description. To add another term description click on ‘Addition Terms’.
10. Click on Next Step button.
11. Enter/select email addresses and click on ‘Send Sales Order’ button to send the order.
12. If you wish to save the sales order, click on ‘Save Sales Order’.
13. If you wish to preview or print your sales order, click on ‘Preview/Print Sales Order’.
